Waffled French Toast with Bananas and Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Ingredients

1/2 cup full cream milk

1/3 cup caster sugar

3 large eggs

1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Unsalted

butter, melted, for brushing

2 large

bananas

Eight 2-cm-thick slices brioche

1/2 cup

chocolate hazelnut spread

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 95°C. Place wire rack over large baking tray and place tray in oven.



Step 2

Preheat the Fill N’ Flip.

Step 3

In shallow baking dish, whisk milk, caster sugar, eggs, and vanilla.



Step 4

Brush lower and upper plates with butter. Working in batches, cut 1/2 banana into 2-cm-thick coins. Dip 1 slice brioche into custard, turning once, for 5 seconds per side and place inside Fill N’ Flip. Spread 2 tbs chocolate hazelnut spread over brioche. Top with an even layer of banana slices. Dip second slice of brioche in custard and place over bananas.

Step 5

Close lid and cook waffle for 5 minutes, or until golden and warmed through. Carefully remove waffle and transfer to oven to keep warm while preparing more waffles.

Step 6

Serve waffles with icing sugar and maple syrup.
